RTS is the City’s contractor for trash collection. Phone: 660-784-2474

Trash collection is every Thursday 6:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

• RTS observes the following holidays: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, & New Years Day. Collection will be on Friday if these holidays fall during the week prior to the Thursday collection.

All trash set out for collection, along with any and all bulk items (see BULK ITEMS below), must be generated by the individual household. No one should allow non-residents free trash collection service.

Trash receptacles are to be placed curbside no earlier than 6:00 pm on the day preceding collection and removed from the curb no later than 8:00 pm on the day of collection. Not adhering to these times is seen as a CODE violation and could result in a Nuisance ticket.

Residents are responsible for their own containers and are limited to the following per week:

• No more than three 65  gallon or smaller sized carts (trash cans) each with a weight limit of 50 pounds or less OR..
• Five large trash bags each with a weight limit of 50 pounds or less.
• No grocery style shopping bags allowed

Garbage that has been scattered by wind, animals, or other means will not be picked up by RTS.

Yard waste (grass, brush, leave, etc.) is not contracted by RTS and will not be picked up.

RTS is not required to accept or collect solid waste that has been mixed with or contaminated by toxic or hazardous waste.

RTS may decline to collect any waste which is not properly contained or placed at the curbside for collection or which contains any waste which the contractor has not agreed with.

BULK ITEMS:

Bulk items, those that are too large to fit in containers and include nearly all kinds of residential appliances with refrigerant removed, as certified by a qualified entity, furnishings, building materials, etc. can be contracted separately to be removed by RTS and is subject to a $10.00 minimum charge per pick up. Call RTS for questions and information regarding bulk items.

ONE (1) bulk item may be placed at no additional fee on the FIRST pick up of each month. It is helpful to call RTS prior to pick up for route planning.RTS: 660-784-2474

The monthly rate contracted for trash collection service is currently $15.95 per residential pick up. This contract ends October 21, 2026.
